The National Pony Society/Mountain and Moorland Novice Working Hunter Pony
Championship
To be judged under the Rules of the NPS
Stallions, mares and geldings four years old or over.
A pony shall not be deemed to be a novice if by 1st January of the current year it has:-
i) won an open NPS Affiliated Mountain and Moorland WHP class,
or ii) won a class at a M & M Working Hunter Pony Championship (Final at HOYS or RIHS)
qualifying round.
or iii) qualified for the NPS M & M Novice/Intermediate Working Hunter Pony Championship
Final at Malvern.
Subsequently once a pony qualifies for the Open M & M Working Hunter Pony Championship
Final at HOYS or RIHS, it may not compete in any further Novice Working Hunter Pony Classes
at NPS Affiliated Shows.
Class 48 Ponies not exceeding 122 cm (12.0hh)
Class 49 Ponies exceeding 122 cm (12.0hh) but not exceeding 138 cm (13.2hh)
Class 50 Ponies exceeding 138 cm (13.2hh)
Working Hunter Pony Championship
1st and 2nd prize winners from classes 48 to 50 will compete. Champion and Reserve Champion will then go forward to the Mountain and Moorland Supreme Show Championship.
Mountain and Moorland Unaffiliated Working Hunter Pony
Run under the same basic NPS rules, with kind heights to encourage and give confidence.
Class 51 Ponies not exceeding 122 cm (12.0hh)
Class 52 Ponies exceeding 122 cm (12.0hh) but not exceeding 138 cm (13.2hh)
Class 53 Ponies exceeding 138 cm (13.2hh)
